For Immediate Release: Bomb Threat Received at Local High School
Prosper, Texas (November 12, 2007)
At approximately 12:35 pm School Resource Officer Jason Baxter received a call from a Prosper High School office employee informing him that a bomb threat via telephone had been received. The unidentified caller, who is believed to be a male, told the employee there was a bomb in the building and hung up the phone immediately. Due to the extreme safety concerns for the Prosper ISD students and staff, the Prosper Police and Fire Department immediately responded to the area to begin assessing the situation. Prosper Police began checking the immediate area. After the immediate are was checked thoroughly by officers Prosper High School students and staff were evacuated to the Prosper High School football stadium, which is several hundred feet away from the main school building. Dallas Police Department K-9 units as well as, Frisco PD, Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Celina PD were on scene to assist as needed. Prosper CERT team members were also on scene to help give out bottles of water and assist students and staff while the police conducted their investigation. At the time of this release Police were following up on any and all possible leads and Dallas Police Department was still in the process of checking the High School and immediate area. Nothing of concern has been located at this time, however, the investigation will continue. More information will be released as it is received by the Prosper Police Department.
