Prosper Police- State Wide Warrant Roundup

The Prosper Police Department and Municipal Court participate in a State wide warrant roundup.

The Prosper Police Department along with law enforcement agencies from across the State of Texas will be conducting a statewide warrant round-up for Class C Offenses from February 16-24, 2008. Class C Offenses are traffic related or a similar degree of offense.

Law enforcement agencies and cities throughout the state conduct roundups at different times throughout the year, focusing on violators with outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants; most of which are traffic-related. Once again, law enforcement agencies statewide are combining their efforts. Those arrested will be taken before court judges for arraignment and disposition of their cases. Full payment or suitable arrangement for full payment will be due at that time. Other options may include a cash bond, a Magistrate Court appearance or attorney representation.

The purpose behind this roundup is to increase levels of compliance through voluntary means or arrest. The belief is that this unified effort across the state will help achieve this goal.

For more information contact either: Capt. Gary McHone, with the Prosper Police at 972/347-9002 or Amy Lightfoot, Court Administrator, with the Prosper Municipal Court at 972/347-3020.
